Premiere: Maria Kelly – "Torn Into Two"

Irish troubadour debuts a forlorn ballad.

Sandwiched somewhere between the aching softness of Billie Marten and the quiet reflections of Marika Hackman lies the sweet sounds of Irish born songsmith Maria Kelly. Her trademark folk tinged indie is already winning her a sizable fan base, as is her thought provoking lyricisms and simplistic yet poignant instrumental arrangements.

Following the release of previous singles “Stitches” and “Black & Blue” comes the new offering “Torn Into Two”. While the former releases have been restrained in places, the latter reveals a whole new side of Kelly’s music both sonically but also on a literary level exhibiting a level of maturity way beyond her years. From every angle Kelly’s art is an immersive experience, imbued with honesty and enthused with youthful exuberance. We love it.
