The Christian Louboutin name might be synonymous with footwear – elegant, highly coveted, red soled footwear – but that could all be about to change with the arrival of the label’s debut make-up for your peepers. “You can see happiness, sadness, fear, fierceness… You definitely see everything through the eyes,” says the Paris based designer alluding to the new collection, which is comprised of Les Yeux Noirs Lash Amplifying mascara, Oeil Vinyle Luminous Ink Liner, Oeil Velours Velvet Eye Definer and Brow Definer.

The French label delves further into beauty.
“I was always fascinated by how much the eyes say. The eyes have a life,” he continues, “Make-up only accentuates what you want to reveal.” Following initial pigeon steps into the world of beauty (a series of nail colours, lip colours and fragrance has already illuminated the market), this latest drop is key for Louboutin, who was inspired by Kathakali, a form of classical Indian dance, for the campaign, pictured here.
“Open eyes say: I listen, I look. Closed eyes say: listen to me, look at me. It is through the eyes that you see personality.” With these tools at your disposal, it would be frankly impossible to disagree.
