FENDI: GIRL’S SECRET

The house reveals a new trailer from Rebecca Zlotowsk.

Marie Antoinette, the Austrian born French royal who may or may not have uttered the phrase ‘let them eat cake’ some time in the 16th century, has been a muse to many; from fashion editors intent on conjuring up the spirit of excess in editorial displays, to Sofia Coppola, who cast Kirsten Dunst in her noughties interpretation of the young queen, and more recently Fendi.

The Italian fashion house paid tribute to Antoinette with its SS17 womenswear collection, debuted last autumn, and has since tapped Rebecca Zlotowsky for a short film exploring similar ideas of over indulgence, this time around in a contemporary setting. The director – whose CV includes 2013’s Grand Central as well as last year’s Planetarium, starring Léa Seydoux and Natalie Portman respectively – here focuses her lens on Paris, as Sigrid Bouaziz tours the city’s most decadent spots. Titled Girl’s Secret, the full film drops on the 22nd March, while the trailer above hints at what you can expect.
