PFW: SAINT LAURENT PARIS AW17

Anthony Vaccarello makes a glittering second outing for Saint Laurent.

Sloppy TBT

When are words that allude to lazy work a good thing? When we’re using them to describe objects that we want/need/simply must have. In short, the boots from Anthony Vaccarello’s second Saint Laurent outing… Worn by upwards of 90% of the models at the Pari show, the Vaccarello sloppy boot is pure 80s, wildy trashy (particularly in patent), and what every woman needs to have a good time. Surely?

Shoulders Out

Looking northward in the line-up – no mean feat of 107 looks – shoulders were clearly high on the creative director’s list of body parts to celebrate for AW17, something a multitude of necklines made good on. Amongst those that most stole Wonderland’s fancy? The 50s inspired off shoulder wrap look of 102, number seven’s uncovered but for a front facing ruffle, and the entire asymmetric group (of which there were plenty).

All That Glitters

If there was one thing that caught your Insta attention, it was most definitely the outpouring of diamante that concluded the show. Introduced with a subtle earring there, some applique here, what followed were boots, minidresses, shirts and more, every one more rhinestone clad then the last. Dazzling, truly.
