South Londoner, Caswell, grew up surrounded by music. Handed a stereo at age 5, she taught herself piano and was accepted into the world renowned BRIT School in her early teens. Since then, she has developed her own unique style, combining jazz, soul and pop to create a rich and captivating sound, which has seen her compared to the likes of Jorja Smith and JONES.

New track ‘Animal’ perfectly shows Caswell’s stunningly soulful voice. The track is hypnotising and brooding, and Caswell’s songwriting talent is obvious. When talking about her writing technique, Caswell said, “I draw from my own personal experiences. I find out that’s when I really need to write. It’s very much a form of catharsis for me and I like having created something positive like a song out of something negative that has happened in my life.” What she creates is beautiful and moving, and if you’re not already rooting for Caswell for 2017, you should be.
