Twelve years ago, RiRi burst into our lives with a track so brilliant it can still fill a dance floor today. Still slaying the music game now, this track brought the pop megastar into the limelight and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Shots at the Grammys

In a move that only Rihanna can pull off, she attended the 2017 Grammy Awards with a bedazzled hip flask. Cue one of the greatest gifs of all time featuring Rih turning to her friend and proclaiming “let’s have another shot” before tacking a swig. Iconic.

“This Pussy Grabs Back”

Rihanna joined the Women’s March in New York, taking to the streets in front of Trump Tower. Among the other thousands of protesters, Rihanna wore a sweatshirt that read “This Pussy Grabs Back” and joined in with protest chants. She later took to Instagram to share a photo of herself surrounded by placards with the caption “So proud to be a woman!! So proud of the women around the world who came together today for pro-choice.”

Fashion Icon

In an Adam Selman gown made out of 230,000 Swarovski crystals, Rihanna wowed at the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards. Picking up the prestigious Fashion Icon Award, RiRi looked stunning in a nude allusion dress, showing off her impeccable sense of style. In her acceptance speech she revealed her reason for outfits that may be considered shocking to some, “Growing up I didn’t have a lot of access to fashion. But as far as I could remember, fashion has always been my defence mechanism. Even as a child I remember thinking, ‘She can beat me, but she cannot beat my outfit.’ And to this day I mean, that is how I think about it. I can compensate for all my weaknesses with my fashion. And so really, you really can.”

Drihanna

In one of the greatest love stories since Romeo and Juliet, Drake and Rihanna’s romance has kept us all on tenterhooks for years. Their will-they-won’t-they storyline escalated with the release of ‘Work’, which saw men and women alike lose their minds over the sexual tension between the two (it is, in fact, impossible not to fancy Rihanna after watching the music video). Drake proclaimed his love for Rihanna at the MTV VMAs and finally it all seemed like our favourite couple were going to be together forever. Unfortunately this didn’t work out, and the two parted separately, with matching shark tattoos. We’re still shipping it though…

Smokin’ Hot

Rihanna is smokin’ hot in more ways than one. Known for being a lover of funky cigarettes, she has perfected looking damn good mid-blaze and not giving a damn about what people think. The perfect example of this was the iconic moment she was seen rolling a joint whilst on her bodyguard’s shoulders at Coachella. When MTV tweeted “Yikes. Rihanna’s marijuana photos spark controversy.” Rih fired back, “Yikes… Rihanna ran out of fucks to give.” Incredible.

Rihanna X Manolo

In one of the greatest fashion collaborations we’ve seen, Rihanna and Manolo Blahnik teamed up last year to create some of the most badass shoes in history. Featuring killer heels and thigh high boots to die for, they’re the perfect accessory to wear whilst strutting around to ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’.
