What’s more American than apple pie? Coach and Disney, that’s what. How appropriate then, that the two giants have come together for a capsule collaboration starring everyone’s favourite rodent: Mickey Mouse. The big eared critter finds his way onto a super cute selection of leather goods and ready-to-wear that your inner Disney kid will go wild for. Part of Coach’s extended (and well deserved) 75th birthday celebration series, which honours some of America’s greatest pop culture icons, the collaboration features specially designed sketches by Disney animators: drawings that appear on t-shirts as well as Coach’s signature glove-tanned leather bags, including the Saddle and the Dinky.
Coach’s Creative Director, Stuart Vevers, said of the partnership: “Mickey Mouse is one of my earliest memories of American pop – his nostalgic charm, cheekiness, individuality and inherent cool make for the ultimate American icon,” adding, “I’ve always seen Mickey as a playful rebel at heart and a timeless symbol of joy and creativity. That spirit reinforces the new youthful perspective we are bringing to luxury at Coach.” We’ll second that, especially when it comes to those to-die-for limited edition sneakers featuring Mickey’s ears.
