Miley Cyrus supports Planned Parenthood in latest project

Miley Cyrus has partnered with artist Marilyn Minter and Marc Jacobs in support of Planned Parenthood.

Last week, Miley teased a new venture on her Instagram, sporting a Planned Parenthood pin reading ‘Don’t fuck with us/Don’t fuck without us’. The big reveal? A collaboration between Miley, Marilyn Minter and Marc Jacobs in support of the embattled reproductive health organisation.

Minter is selling 50 signed, limited edition prints of the singer through Artsy, sales of which will go directly to Planned Parenthood, with Marc Jacobs producing t-shirts with images from the shoot. The shots feature Miley through a steamy glass pane – and naturally, her irrepressible tongue makes a cameo.

The campaign comes at a particularly fraught time for Planned Parenthood. Over the past year, heavily edited sting videos were released by anti-choice activists, numerous states across the US voted to defund the organisation – a move that slashed the access of low income women to affordable birth control – and three were killed in a mass shooting at a Colorado clinic by a gunman who described himself as a ‘warrior for the babies’.

Joan Malin, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood New York City, celebrated the collaboration between Cyrus, Minter and Jacobs for ‘shin[ing] a spotlight on the millions of women who are being negatively affected by this ongoing attack on abortion access’. And Miley’s rallying cry? ‘Thank you guys so much for all that you do, and fuck yeah!’
