Another summer, another Chanel Bijou line. This year Gabrielle Chanel’s beloved camellia is the inspiration behind the collection. The baroque designs were first presented during Métiers d’art Paris show last year. The four uber-feminine styles play with oversized frames, split between intense dark shades for frames or transparent natural tones.

Created as “an ode to femininity and the dolce vita”, according to Chanel, metallic camellias in shades of gold, silver and ruthenium spill over the temples of the frames. Dipped in lacquer and enamel, you’ll have to peer that little bit closer to see the subtle trademark double C’s hiding amongst the blooms. It might not be summer in London quite yet, but we’ll forgive you for wearing shades early if they’re Chanel.
