Since being founded in 2011, London-based contemporary menswear brand Blood Brother have evolved their collections from jersey staples into a considered menswear brand using minimal cuts to solidify their forward thinking aesthetic. Following Nicholas Biela and James Waller’s first dip into the footwear market last season (that obviously paid off), their latest venture comes in the form of a shining follow up SS16 range of trainer styles that launches later this week, which we can’t wait to sink out feet into.
The collection, titled ‘Colony’ takes inspiration from alternative landscapes and the concept of movement with zero gravity, hence the heavy space boot-like soles and sheened silver swatches. Made using specially selected Italian leathers, suede and nubuck, each style is hand finished in Portugal (fancy) and the running styles feature Blood Brothers own custom designed sole. The tabs that run down the back of each shoe display the words ‘Never Alone’, a statement that is a running theme throughout the store but also doubles as a reassuring thought for the person walking behind you.
