NYFWM: DUCKIE BROWN AW16

Steven Cox and Daniel Silver threw away all fashion week rules and showed six looks at NYFWM this season.

Less Is More

Sure, when you’re Miuccia Prada or Donatella Versace with a thousand fashion minions at your fingertips, showing six looks would be lazy. We’re branding Duckie Brown as brave for sticking to the bare essentials for AW16. How much can you show in six looks? Believe it or not, enough to dress a man for an entire season. Confidence in their designs or a commentary on our insatiable consumerism, who knows? Either way, stick with Duckie Brown until Spring 2017 and you’ll be safe.

Every Man

Obviously options are limited when you’re creating roughly 20 pieces for an entire season. There’s nothing outlandish here, just good style and great taste for anyone who comes across Duckie Brown. The line’s a somewhat predictable hybrid of streetwear and smart daywear, but when it looks this good, who cares? Sticking to a monochromatic palette, Silver and Cox have brought you slick white zip up sports jackets, heavy but fluid overcoats and all the bits to go underneath, white shirts and grey and black suit trousers only, please. Genius? Limited? You still want at least one piece though don’t you…
