Maggie Lindemann – Things

While you were distracted by the release of Anti, Maggie Lindemann had been quietly getting on with the business of becoming your new favourite popstar. “Things” is Lindemann’s latest single and she is taking it to the next level. The track quickly appeared in the top 20 of the iTunes alternative chart, fuelled by her talent and her army of online fans. Three singles in and she has yet to put a foot wrong.

Jessy Lanza – It Means I Love You

Popstar and aspiring horticulturist Jessy Lanza is set to follow up 2015’s You Never Show Your Love EP with new album Oh No. In the press release announcing the album Lanza says: “I became obsessed with surrounding myself with tropical plants. I’ve been convinced that the air quality in our house is slowly killing us. It might sound crazy but the plants have made a huge difference.”

Dellux – Dreamer

Dellux, aka South Wales’ Elliot Brussalis, has been making waves for a while now. A member of the Cardiff collective Astroid Boys, Brussalis has just dropped the title track from his forthcoming debut EP. It’s dark and grimy, not entirely unlike Newport, but is a track that defies labels – a constantly shifting sound. Dreamer is due to be released on 1st April via MTA records.

Tourist – To Have You Back

Tourist has unveiled the stunning visuals for track “To Have You Back”. The video was directed Davy Evans and Jason Drew. The pair has serious form having previously directed videos for The xx, Thom Yorke and Modeselektor. The track is the first to be lifted from Tourist’s debut album U which will be released in spring 2016

Wangel – You Got To Say It Loud

“You Got To Say It Loud” is the new single from Danish electro pop outfit Wangel. It’s an explosive 3 minutes of electro-pop which should whet your appetite for their debut album. The album, titled Freedom, will be released in the spring.

Zayn – Pillowtalk

ICYMI – Zayn Malik has dropped his debut solo single. Zayn first came to the nation’s attention when he reluctantly danced for pop music svengali Simon Cowell on The X Factor. Malik always had the finest voice in One Direction and without four bandmates is given ample room to shine. The track, which was produced by Malay (Frank Ocean), is the first single from Zayn’s debut album Mind Of Mine which will be released on 25 March through RCA Records.

Ed Thomas- Love Is Red

Ed Thomas returns with new track “Love Is Red”, a super slick slice of R&B pop. The track is the first music to be released by Thomas since 2014’s exceptionally well crafted Outlaws EP. Thomas, who has written for countless artists, describes the track as: “a page from my diary at a time when a lot of things were changing, the song just fell out of me. It felt too personal to send to anyone else”.

Faroe – Blast

Faroe is the solo project of Concrete Knives member Coretin and his hypnotic track “Blast” has now got a video. The video is based on a drawing of a bust by the graphic artist Nathanne Le Corre which was then brought to life by animator Elliot Martin. Blast is taken from Faroe’s debut EP Words which is out now.

Rina Sawayama – Where U Are

London-based performer Rina Sawayama has shared her delicious new track Where U Are. The track shimmers, a fluid and sparkly song that sits perfectly between 90s Mariah and Solange. Sawayama said: “Online you can present your best edited self, and bypass lots of the messiness and awkwardness that comes with real human interactions. Your overheating phone substitutes human warmth. Weirdest of all—you’re together, but also very alone.”

Glades – Drive

There must be something in the water down under because lately those Australians have been churning out some brilliant pop. Glades are the latest act which you should have on your radar. They’ve just released their first official single and it’s brilliant – an atmospheric gem. The single is out now.

Tiggs Da Author – Run ft. Lady Leshurr

Tiggs Da Author has shared the video for new single “Run” – the equally infectious follow-up to debut track “Georgia”. The video, which features Lady Leshurr, was shot in South Africa and focuses on the illegal car sport called “spinning”. Don’t try this at home kids.
