Trippy visuals, electric-pastel hues and a hell of a lot of hair action, get ready to experience Novella’s latest music video.
70’s inspired band Novella are the new kids on the block with a penchant for wearing lots of denim and crazy platform boots whilst creating some totally vibey songs. The London based quintet formed in 2010 and have been slowly drip feeding us little nuggets of hippy goodness ever since. Their new music video for single “Sentences” is a dreamland of trippy fish, bouncing bubbles, primary colors and hair brushing. Ethereal and melodic, the girls (and singular boy) have managed to encapsulate a sound both of the moment, 70’s inspired and thoroughly fresh.
The video for “Sentences” is a kaleidoscope of weird and wonderful, yet very pretty, bizarre objects and we’re totally addicted to the floaty underwater look that Novella have manufactured so well. Highlights include lots of egg holding, the band crazily dancing about to their own song with some wonderfully trippy effects and some great hair action. The band were inspired “by the multi-coloured glittering face in L’Enfer by Henri-Georges Clouzot’s with Romy Schneider” and “Flimsy gels and hand held moving lights were placed in front of the band to bathe the band’s faces in neon” to create the distinctive visuals. If there was ever a complicated concept – then Novella have nailed it, but the trippy nature of this video is perfect for a fun-filled escape from the dreaded hump day.
Novella will be touring the UK from 30th October to December 12th.
