Hedi Slimane: photographer, creative director and now, architect? Peer into the Hotel Senecterre, restored under Hedi’s own eye, in YSL’s new campaign.
In 1685 the Hotel Senecterre was built in Saint Germain. In 2012, Hedi Slimane began reconstructing it. Yves Saint Laurent’s Creative Director was appointed to recreate the essence of ‘Saint Laurent Rive Gauche’. After its three year revamp, the rebuilt hotel is now home to a three floor atelier, consisting of the Salon Couture, Atelier Flou and Atelier Tailleur.
Of course we all want some YSL couture, that’s a given, but regardless of whether you’ve got the money in the bank, you’re only getting your perfectly manicured hands on a piece if you’re “a close friend of the house”, a very exclusive list. If you meet the criteria, your clothes come with their own individual number on an ivory YSL label. Time to get saving and social climbing. In the classiest way possible.
