Cryptic, until you see the collection. If you haven’t seen ‘Klute’, all you need to know is that it’s a film about prostitution. Ashish are turning call girl stereotypes into high fashion choices, from thigh high PVC red stripper platform boots to lacy négligée and oversized patchwork furs.
Clad in Camo
Camo has a revival every few seasons and we all go mad for customised khaki army jackets but Ashish have done it properly. Oversized, swamping, blurred blue camo jeans with leopard fur trims and studs (very RiRi in her latest vid for ‘FourFiveSeconds’) and sequin cropped track pants are a fresh take on this tired trend. You couldn’t blend in anywhere in these pieces.
Luxed Out
Strip back the collection to its most basic and you’ve got your essentials, slip dresses, hoodies, parkas and jeans. Nothing extraordinary there until Ashish come in and make their mark on it. Patchwork fur in every print and pattern coated every surface until lines became blurred into a ball of pure fuzz, slip dresses got sequinned in acid green plaid. This is everyday wear gone glam.
