Nobody can resist the pull of Scandinavian cool, especially when it is combined with teddy bear aesthetics. Creative Director Malte Flagstad debuted only last year, but with a resume with names like Maison Martin Margiela we are expecting big things from the new collection. Cuddly and cosy – the collection is inspired by 70s details and a long forgotten teddy bear from the designers archive. To create the soft pea coat they collaborated with world famous teddy bear manufacturer Steiff, with the softest and most irresistible fur on the runway.
The collection has futuristic and modernist twists with models adorned with oversized white wash teddy bear heads and dashes of unexpected colour with bright yellow and blues. Greys, deep blues and camels are the go to colours of the season and decorated with miniature teddy bears from Steiff, the nostalgia is overwhelmingly chic. Suave and sophisticated with stylish jackets and slick leather gloves, the Tonsure man means business. Cartoon character Paddington bear was always the most adorable character, a teddy dressed with a coat and red wellingtons, well Flagstad has made the reverse just as covetable.
