Inspired by Britney and influenced by Laura Marling, Laurel is bringing her fresh take on pop to a collaboration with Sivu.

We’re very excited in the Wonderland office to share with you the premiere of Laurel’s new track, Come Together, featuring singer-songwriter Sivu (aka James Page), it’s a deliciously dark and seductive preview of Laurel’s upcoming EP Holy Water. With bass throbbing like a heartbeat and vocals as soft as whispers, the two singers have created a lullaby for grown-ups. The song swells up and washes all over you, like a dream you can just about remember in the morning, you’re left with the utterance of “keep the peace” lingering in your ears long after those three minutes are over.

Sparse and beautifully simple, we’ve been left wanting more. Until the EP’s released we’ll just have to have our fingers constantly hovering over the repeat button and raid the online Laurel archives. Despite the cinematic feel of her earlier releases such as Blue Blood and comparisons to Lana Del Rey, Laurel has a hypnotic hint of innocence in her voice. Perhaps it’s her age, still a teenager, we can’t wait to see what she does next, having already recorded in LA, supported MS MR and with emotion pouring out of her like a woman who’s been heartbroken a thousand times, she’s set to have a whirlwind career.

Only two weeks to wait until you can hear more. Listen to Come Together, be bewitched, fall in love. We’ve gone all romantic, it’s hard not to be swept up in Laurel and Sivu’s longing, intoxicating voices.

Laurel plays a headline show at Hoxton Bar and Grill on 9th December
