To celebrate Communion’s second New Faces tour we got the lineup to take us through their favourite tracks

After the success of their first New Faces tour in Spring, it made sense for Communion to present us with an Autumn offering. With a lineup featuring Amber Run, Kimberley Anne, Fyfe and Pixel Fix, it promises not to disappoint. Covering seven cities in one week, the New Faces tour is the best chance you’ll have in a long while to see a varied four-act bill in the UK’s most intimate venues.

To celebrate, we asked each of the lineup for their five favourite tracks, and they responded accordingly:

KIMBERLEY ANNE

Brand New – Okay I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don’t

“When we need to play some stuff to make us up on a long drive in the van I go through some old classics from one of my favourite bands.”

New Radicals – You Get What You Give

“No one knows the words but doesn’t stop you singing the whole thing.”

Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip – You Will See Me

“I listen to spoken word and audio books a lot while away. Feels likes there’s a few less distractions around and life is little simpler.”

Britney Spears – Perfume

“Big fan.”

Catfish and The Bottlemen – Cocoon

“Love this album.”

AMBER RUN

Alt-J – Warm Foothills

“The vocals are so clever and it’s just so chilled. Sivu and Lianne La Havas feature on it. I think it’s my favourite from the new album.”

Superfood – Superfood

“I love the debut album ‘ Dont Say that’. Imagine if Graham Coxon played on top of Beastie Boys. That’s quite close. It’s mighty stuff.”

James Blake – Digital Lion

“It’s a good one to listen to while things are going past the window.”

Arcade Fire – Ready to Start

“I find it to be a pretty liberating track when I’m feeling low.”

Jamiroquai – Time Won’t Wait

“An utter masterpiece – the most ridiculous bass playing.”

FYFE

Emily King – Georgia

“Our go-to night-time driving song – great for the post-gig comedown.”

The Fugees – Fu-Gee-La

“Tour isn’t tour without a daily fix of Lauryn.”

The Roots – You Got me ft. Erykah Badu

“If you are missing home, the classics are often the most soothing.”

St Vincent – Digital Witness

“Sometimes touring can make you feel slightly unhinged: ‘What’s the point of even sleeping… I want all of your mind.'”

Lethal Bizzle – Rari WorkOut ft. JME & Tempa T

“It’s hard to stay healthy on the road – everyone needs a workout hype-track.”

PIXEL FIX

Bonobo – The Keeper

“As well as Bonobo arguably being one of the best producers out there, his songwriting and instrumentation skills are crazy. This song/album is incredible.”

Marc Mac – The World Is Yours

“We were big fans of Nas already, so when we heard Mark Macs rendition of this Nas song, we instantly fell in love. The Piano in this is amazing.”

Mount Kimbie – Carbonated

“Mount Kimbie are probably one of the first electronic artists we fully got into. Their production is so interesting, and this song is an example of that. Sick.”

Frank Ocean – Crack Rock

“We have been big fans of Frank Ocean for a while now. Lyrically this song is quite dark, but instrumentally so nice.”

Andrea – Work the Middle

“Andrea is an amazing producer from France. We love his production style and his ability to create such a large ambience in his music.”
