Old Street station welcomes a new week long exhibition, “Girls Only”, showcasing work from twelve young women living and working in London
Rejecting the traditional curatorial mechanism in which all pieces have an explicit or implicit link, the three week process by which these works will be installed, viewed and taken down will focus on providing each woman with an individual outlet for their expression, unencumbered by the work of their fellow exhibitors. The unity of the collection is thus found in the shared individualism throughout.
While not all the women consider themselves to be artists, there is nonetheless an overwhelming and permeating sense of mutual support within the venture, which Girls Only hope will be shared by artists and viewers alike. Featuring the work of Bella Howard and Hannah Weiland amongst a string of other insightful artists, the exhibition will run from now until next Monday at Old Street Station.
