Opening Ceremony have collaborated with Max Lamb to create a unique pop-up store in East London’s Ace Hotel
Fashion label Opening Ceremony have unveiled their new store in London’s Act Hotel, Shoreditch, making it the first international multi-brand retailer to take residence in the East London area.
The shop has been created by designer Max Lamb who obtained an MA in Design Products from the Royal College of Art in 2006. Max has since developed a unique trademark design by creating furniture from raw materials and handcraftsmanship, making his designs instantly recognisable. For the store, Max has created a shop floor with various natural cave-style fittings while still retaining a contemporary feel and an air of elegance, both of which have become synonymous with the designers attached to Opening Ceremony.
The Shoreditch store will feature designers including Raf Simons, Hood by Air, Helen Lawrence and Coperni who will join a list of impressive OC clientele such as Alexander Wang, Rodarte and Kenzo. The Ace Hotel seems like the perfect location for the store, as the chain’s ethos is to create an interesting environment in urban areas while getting inspiration from the buildings, history and geography. These interests mirror those of Opening Ceremonies founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon who wanted to create a boutique that would highlight their love of discovering new places through travel as well as fashion.
Opening Ceremony Shoreditch is located on Shoreditch High Street and open from Midday until 7pm, 7 days a week.
