We chart pop-provocateur Miley Cyrus’ whirlwind week in the capital through the eyes of her rose-tinted Instagram
Following her hiatus from her Bangerz tour, pop-provocateur Miley Cyrus kicked things off again in London last week with a big old bang. In true Miley style, her week was a whirlwind of Americana-pop culture referenced clothing, seductive selfies, outspoken moments and evocative performance. Carving a path through her adoring British fans Miley’s first escapade in the capital was of course her Bangerz tour date at the 02 Academy, followed by the Mert + Marcus Miley Cyrus party held at Madame JoJo’s, before finishing up with a secret gig at the capital’s clubbing hot-spot G.A.Y., here we chart her week through the eyes of Instagram…
MAY 6TH: BANGERZ TOUR AT THE 02
Marking her first London appearance since 2009, it was clear from the start that this was going to be a performance to remember. A booty-poppin’, butt-twerkin’, crotch-grabbin’ extravaganza, Miley’s costumes included a diamante clad Rolling Stone lip-logo leotard and a dollar-bill doused bodysuit by The Blonds. The performance saw her dance with acid bright fury creatures that made a cameo on stage, ride rooftop on a revolving gold car and gyrate a giant hot dog – we wouldn’t have had it any other way.
MAY 8TH – MILEY X MERT & MARCUS PARTY
Following Miley’s tour date, the photography duo held a triple M party celebrating Mert, Marcus and Miley at London’s Madame JoJo’s with a guestlist that included the likes of Kate Moss, Alister Mackie, Pixie Lott and Mary Charteris. Hosted by Fran Cutler, the party was themed “Don’t be Boring” – think club kids in the ‘90s – extravagant, irreverent and effortlessly flamboyant.
MAY 9TH – MILEY AT G.A.Y.
To finish her week in London, Miley performed a secret gig at the capital’s clubbing hot-spot G.A.Y. and in typical raunchy style, Miley pleased the crowds with her signature erotically tinged choreography with the addition of a giant inflatable penis. She’s just being Miley.
