The ex-Fashion East designer presents her AW14 collection, her first as part of NEWGEN.

Hand painted leather is Claire Barrows thing, and it probably always will be, it’s whats gained her her dedicated following so far, motivated by a DIY and  hand-crafted spirit Claire has hugely developed since starting with Fashion East three seasons ago.
The inspiration for her first independent collection came from deceased male icons, her dedication and ultimate unrequited love for them. A collection of souvenirs to have and to hold.

Claire used her original hand paintings comprised of primary colours with dark expressive strokes to create digital prints which are then collaged into each garment. Celebrating Claire’s heroes, their faces decorate shiny satin jackets, floor length dresses, silk scarves and men’s ties. Just like the men they pay homage to, the clothes are made for moving, dancing and singing with a small handful of leather pieces adorned with fringing. The silhouette remains feminine thanks to raglan shoulders. Love the hand painted cowboy boots!
