FENDI MENS AW14

Fendi’s Fall 2014 collection was all about luxe textures; fur, fur, fur a dash of leather and then more fur.

As soon as you entered the shows venue you got a taster of what to expect; an endless carpet of long, black goat fur acted as the shows catwalk (goatwalk?). Fendi takes classic men’s pieces and treats and transforms them in to statement pieces; a calfskin biker jacket is embossed and embroidered to imitate crocodile, a grey Aran knit morphs from knit to sheepskin and back, distorted Prince of Wales checks cover a short coat and youthful slim cut tailoring is accessorised with leather trainers.

There’s a playful, lighthearted spirit running through the collection, models wear huge fur mittens and hats, the infamous Bag Bugs make a return on mens jackets in experimentative shearling and the iconic Fendi Peekaboo bag also makes a welcome comeback with a masculine, roomier design for 2014.  But it’s the luxurious textures that take main stage, especially Fur – a quintessential part of the Fendi DNA – which finds itself everywhere from a mink v-neck sweater to stunning Narnia-esque coats.

We especially love the amazing Bag Bug inspired shearling bomber jacket, which will no doubt sell out like crazy, some of the best outerwear we’ve seen so far this season, kudos.
