We preview Jeremy Scott’s first collection for Moschino!
American designer Jeremy Scott has revealed his first designs for Italian house Moschino after being appointed creative director in 2013. Jeremy will show his first ready to wear collection for Fall 2014 next month in Milan but for now he has wet our appetite with Moschino’s pre-fall 14 lookbook released this week. Jeremy’s self-titled ‘new muse’ Staz Lindes models the collection.
Thinking about it, it seems the role creative director for Moschino was one created for Jeremy Scott, who was once an intern at the house. The collection is just what you expect from Jeremy, who’s past designs include teddy bear trainers for Adidas and has dressed the likes of Katy Perry and A$ap Rocky, there’s a lot of logos and there’s a lot of gold chains it’s all insanely OTT, but that’s just what we were expecting.
Jackets are turned in to handbags, a giant clothes tag is turned in to a silk t-shirt dress, a negligee is sewn over a trench coat, gold chains adorn back pockets of trousers and the brands logo is splashed anywhere and everywhere from chokers to ankle straps.
With gold chains, caps and quilted bombers it’s all very street. It’s excessive, eccentric and overtop and has Scott written all over it.
