A beautiful collection from one of our favourite menswear designers.
Shaun Samson was hugely missed on the London schedule this season, but happily we have these images of his winter collection to share. The designer was envisioning an Eastern European Military Academy, in particular the way they might interpret American sporting wear through their own prism. Mistakes in translation are one of the most glorious things to happen in clothing; think Japanese Mods or African Dandies. Here we see classic sporting shorts shrunk and matched with stockings – it’s a sissy-fication of the world a man’s world. Very in keeping with the high fem feeling of A/W14 prevalent in London. Samson continues his use of plaid and flannel, giving a grunge edge to his flower and sash wreathed fey creatures.
