The Eighties are back! Right? Giorgio Armani’s SS14 collection was all about our favorite decade.

Properly titled “Lights & Shadows,” the looks were a proper display of sheer lights and structured shadows. From the chic tousled coifs to the silk organza blouses and skirts, these girls assumed the role as Armani’s modern day Grace Jones. Staying true to the houses traditional aesthetic, models paraded down the runway in flawlessly crafted jackets and pants suits—Wall Street women who could hold their own, and certainly did (in the form of  bright leather bags)!

The show progressed from 1981 badass businesswoman to chic nights at Studio 54. Packed purple printed skirts and watercolour silks were downtown night our ready. The Armani woman had many faces when the show took another turn with playful daytime floral mini-dresses and matching jackets. Large plate-style earrings and heeled thong sandals were the perfect accessory for this about town woman.

A show stopping trio of silk draped girls in true eighties oversized caps were the spitting image of the 1982 power woman. Above all, this collection was about powerful femininity and retro sureness.
