Twinkling, leftfield production and a voice that could melt butter: meet Fabienne. We premiere her debut track ‘Smokescreen’.
Measure out a good portion of The Weeknd, a generous dose of AlunaGeorge and a sprinkling of Rainy Milo and what do you get? Answer: Fabienne, the latest exciting voice on the block where husky, R&B-tinged bedroom voices meets experimental production.
Born in Bradford, the 21-year-old singer spent her formative years listening to N.E.R.D and J’Dilla before catching the eye of Super Recordings, the label that brought us Bondax and oh yeah, AlunaGeorge. Her single ‘Smokescreen’ is set for a July release alongside another track – and if this a taster of what she’s got to offer, colour us very, very interested.
