Dolce & Gabbana’s Creative Beauty Advisor Pat McGrath created a sensual Byzantine goddess look for their illustrious AW13 collection.
Crowned and bejewelled beauties sauntered down the runway at the
Dolce & Gabbana autumn/winter 2013 show, showcasing the mosaics and tesserae colours of the Byzantine church Monreale in Sicily. In order to compliment the colourful collection,
Pat McGrath conjured a beauty regime that summoned quiet but arresting sensual mystery. To create skin as flawless as a Madonna statue, Pat applied products such
Perfect Luminous and Perfect Matte Liquid Foundations that resulted in a soft, matte finish. Even the eyeshadow quad in Desert served as a shimmering but non-assuming (and aptly named) base.
Once the heavenly nudes were applied, McGrath brought her queens of Byzantium to life with punctuated swaths of dark, erotic colour. A thick application of Dolce & Gabbana Glam Intense black eyeliner branched into exotic wings, while the lips were a mix of luscious ruby and amethyst. The clothes were bedazzling and the beauty was striking, creating a look that would make even the gods jealous.
