LONDON FASHION WEEK – HOUSE OF HOLLAND

Traditionally at a House of Holland showcase, Henry Holland’s nearest and dearest mass together, cheering his newest collection down the catwalk. and the performance yesterday did not disappoint: BFC’s newest Ambassador Alexa Chung alongside Poppy Delevigne and Pixie Geldof perched on the front row.

Models with fierce attitude marched to the beats of Azealia Banks in the most luxe collection from House of Holland to date. With inspiration drawn from Mork and Mindy combined with the Tour de France, 80s style cycle caps with flipped up brims, brandishing “Ride it” were the ultimate accessory. Striped jumpsuits, skater skirt dresses, double denim and Holland’s experimental use of clashing pinks, yellows, blues and reds kept the collection expectedly irreverent.

Sharp tailoring, awash with brightly coloured, oversized houndstooth, was a million miles away from the rhyming slang T-shirts that were the talk of the 2006 Fashion East talent-spotting catwalk.

Much like many of the famous faces along the front row, Holland’s fun-loving adolescent has grown up into a glamorous woman, and it’s hard not to be allured by her newly-found sophistication.
