Alpaca furs and lace trims, Maiyet’s AW16 line is for the ladylike city slicker.

Photo Fresh

Designer Declan Kearney used two sources of inspiration for Maiyet’s Fall 2016 collection. One was the label’s Spring campaign and the other was the photography, designs and architecture of Carlo Mollino. Both are a symbol of strength and sensuality and Kearney wanted to take the brand’s intimate Spring campaign featuring Anna Cleveland and Mollino’s unexpected but well respect sense of design —particularly with his furniture— and blend them together.

Luxe Knit

The climax included shearlings, leather dresses and metal handle bags. Lingerie short swere matched up with biker jackets, shirts that tie up in the front and close toe pumps. Alpaca, a fur that has become quite popular for fall— was shown on teddy jacket and other fall ready outerwear. Keaney also incorporated fair cashmere into the autumn winter mix. Fair cashmere is a pure white Mongolia and is one of the most luxurious cashmere yarns in the world. This material wound up mostly on sweaters and one dress with a vanilla lace trim.

Do It Right

Maiyet is never the most exciting show in terms of jaw-dropping looks. The colours have stayed pretty subdued over the past season and aside from a Alpaca cape they weren’t very interesting either. However, there ’s a customer who trust the brand and would be happy with the array of spaghetti strapped dress and slim black trousers that were presented today.
