First picking up a guitar (a Gibson 355, to be precise) age 12, he spent his youth listening to Rock&#8217;n&#8217;Roll heroes like Chuck Berry and Bob Dylan, but also modern greats such as The Strokes, Nirvana and The Libertines. This blend of influences mean Davis has an indie-kid&#8217;s understanding of a tight riff and an angry-yet-catchy line, but an old head&#8217;s technical brilliance and fret board skills. It makes for a heady combination, particularly on his Jack White-feeling track &#8216;Crooked Finger&#8217;, that we&#8217;re proud to be premiering on\u00a0<em>Wonderland\u00a0<\/em>&#8211; with a live video to boot.<\/p>\n<p>A cut from his debut album, the song is a raucous, righteous barnstormer that&#8217;s brimming with Davis&#8217; unique vocal talent. He said the track&#8217;s defiant message (&#8220;What&#8217;s the lesson? If someone points a finger at you, you point one right back&#8221;)\u00a0was inspired by a run in with a bouncer who refused him entry from a club &#8211; we&#8217;ve all been there. It&#8217;s a sound that will be fondly familiar to anyone who spent their teens treading round sticky floors in skinny jeans and Converse as The White Stripes blared out the speakers.
