She couldn&#8217;t have chosen much better than Brodinski &#8211; the French DJ and producer who, with his label Bromance, is one of the most respected talents in the business &#8211; who worked with Andersen to produce a killer playlist for the show.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration, born out of the Red Bull Catwalk Studios Project, has resulted in something that&#8217;s a little bit Trap and a little bit dark-Techno, with\u00a0a lot of raucous, lively beats &#8211; a great match for the queen of vibrant, urban-fashion. Featuring SoundCloud heroes like Tommy Kruise, underground hip-hop from the likes of Bricc Baby and plenty of original cuts from Bromance&#8217;s upcoming release\u00a0<em>Homieland Vol. 2<\/em>, it&#8217;s definitely one to stick on to take you into the Saturday evening. We sat down with Andersen and Brodinski to find out a little bit more about the collection and how this collaboration came about.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/soundcloud.com\/brodinskiofficial\/brodinski-x-astrid-andersen-the-mixtape\/s-ojf5e<\/p>\n<p><strong>Astrid Andersen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What has been soundtracking your time in the studio this season?<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We listened a lot to <em>The Velvet Rope<\/em> by Janet Jackson, to me it\u2019s one of the greatest records of all time! And I won\u2019t lie for those late nights we have been listening to Justin Bieber, there&#8217;s no getting around it!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What were your main inspirations for AW16?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This season there just weren&#8217;t that many clear references or themes. It just clothes that I felt like making. I love to work in fabrics that are unusual for my aesthetic and try and make them look like they belong here, so this season I worked with a very traditional UK tweed mill and wanted to really work in an iconic fabric but make it ours and not ladylike.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Who is the ultimate pin-up guy for AW16?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Obama.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s your favourite piece from the collection?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The tweed tracksuit and bomber gets me exited!<\/p>\n<p><strong>What about Brodinski made you want to collaborate?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Everything! When the red bull catwalk studio approached me re my catwalk music this season I knew I wanted to work with him. He is so talented, I was so honoured when he took the time to work on this mix with me! As an artist he is very confident in creating a new sound and as a person, when he walks into a room you instantly know he is the boss, and he smiles a lot and is genially one of the nicest people I have met \u2013 it\u2019s such an attractive combination, he becomes inspirational on all levels!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Unknown-1.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62679\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Unknown-1-1024x683.jpeg\" alt=\"Unknown-1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Brodinski<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>How did you start to plan your mix for Astrid?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Astrid gave me a bit of direction, influences and mood to bring together the right music around the new collection. Then I improvised!<\/p>\n<p><strong>After the show\u2026 where else is the ideal place for us to play the mix?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You could run to it, cook to it, get stoned to it (shh\u2026hah) but I think if you listen to it in the car (while driving please) you gonna hear the real thing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How closely did you and Astrid work together?<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nWe had a chance to meet in London and work together on it, so I\u2019m happy as soon as she is!!<br \/>\nI&#8217;m just here to take care of the music.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are we going to see you in any of Astrid\u2019s AW16 pieces?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Probably!
