Wonderland<\/em> get a sneak peek\u00a0at QASIMI’s AW16 collection ahead of LC:M tomorrow and grab a minute with the man behind the brand.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Tell us a bit about yourself?<\/strong><\/p>\n I was born in the UAE and came over to the Uk at the age of 9 on an art scholarship. I studied at the architectural association and at Central Saint Martins. I worked in the architecture field before getting into fashion.<\/p>\n What was your starting point for the collection?<\/strong><\/p>\n The starting point for this collection was looking at the ferocity of nature and the violence of the sea. I then came across images of Yousef Nabil a photographer that shot the Yemeni fisherman community in the South Shields. I was inspired by the idea of hybrids and the mix of cultures. This is translated in the mix of outerwear and prints.<\/p>\n What\u2019s your favourite detail this season?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The triple pleated sailor trouser and the multiple yarn mix fabric that we developed in the UK.<\/p>\n How do you get inspired? What keeps you going through the intense process of creating a collection?<\/strong><\/p>\n Socio political issues. Architecture, art and photography.<\/p>\n Which tracks were on repeat when you were creating the collection?<\/strong><\/p>\n Anouar Brahim -astrakhan cafe.<\/p>\n Sum up the collection in three words\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n Protective.
