It&#8217;ll come as no surprise then, that we&#8217;re mad about the label&#8217;s Pre-Fall collection. As is tradition for McQ, this season takes inspiration from a slew of iconic post-war subcultures (Mods and Rockers, Punks, Skinheads and Teddy Boys &#8211; and Girls) and explores ideas of youth-rebellion with a\u00a0delinquent energy. There&#8217;s a difference this time, though, as Sarah Burton and the guys at McQ have also looked to the adolescents of the African Maasai, celebrating the handcrafted and idiosyncratically\u00a0draped robes worn during their liminal, not-quite-adult period.<\/p>\n<p>The clothes themselves come in cobwebbed knits and artisinal crochets, as well as enlarged\u00a0tartans and dappled ponyskin prints. Cut-wise, draped ease is the order of the day; silhouettes are generously fabricated with wide legged trousers and long length shirts, but also well-tailored jackets in a neo-Edwardian style (for that velvet-lapelled Teddy Girl vibe).
