What happens when you just need\u00a0something out-of-control loud, freaky and\u00a0weird as hell? Collectives SLUGBAIT (a noise-rap and industrial music-obsessed\u00a0duo) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/_sort\/\">SORT<\/a> (makers of all things\u00a0severe\u2013from\u00a0fashion\u00a0and\u00a0photo zines to concrete\u00a0objects) are coming together this Friday night for what promises to be one of the most anxiety-provoking, ear-pounding nights of your life: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1718972884989025\/\"><em>Very Friendly<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0Promising &#8220;all the music you want to hear in a club, but are too afraid to ask&#8221;, it&#8217;s just the ticket for those of you that prefer hiding in dark corners shuffling your feet, or staring at the DJ in a death-grip-trance. Music-wise, think <a href=\"\/2015\/12\/night-breed\/\">Mykki Blanco<\/a>, think Throbbing Gristle, Puce Mary, Young Thug, Depeche Mode&#8230; need we go on? We grabbed 60-seconds with SLUGBAIT and SORT and got an exclusive look inside SORT&#8217;s photo zine ahead of the official launch at <i>Very Friendly\u00a0<\/i>on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-61906\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Very-Friendly-Flyer-3.jpg\" alt=\"Very Friendly Flyer 3\" srcset=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Very-Friendly-Flyer-3.jpg 784w, \/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Very-Friendly-Flyer-3-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 784px) 100vw, 784px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>What inspired you to set up this night?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SLUGBAIT: I blame society.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What should we expect from it?<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SORT: *loud noises*<\/p>\n<p>SLUGBAIT:\u00a0Noise and destruction.\u00a0There&#8217;s a lot of music that people want to hear in clubs that doesn&#8217;t ever get played in them.\u00a0Also,\u00a0DJing has become increasingly streamlined and commodified in the UK: it\u2019s not about playing bold, defiant music, it\u2019s about dehydrating\u00a0the audience for bar gains with soulless, middle of the road background techno.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What kind of music will you be playing?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SORT: Dark music to dance\u00a0to.<\/p>\n<p>SLUGBAIT:\u00a0Post-punk, noise rap and everything in-between &#8211; anything a bit aggy, visceral and pounding.\u00a0\u00a0Punk agitators and industrial terrorisers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why The Victoria?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SLUGBAIT: It\u2019s a dusty old boozer that puts on really decent, adventurous music nights. It\u2019s rumoured that Eastenders&#8217; Queen Vic was based on it, too.
