Already the talk of the fashion world, having recently shot editorials with three different Vogue titles (Australia, Teen, and U.S.) and made her runway debut with Desigual during New York Fashion Week last fall, she\u2019s well on the way to her Chanel dreams.<\/p>\n<p>If that wasn\u2019t enough, Hadid has also just begun classes at Parsons New School of Design in New York, majoring in photography. \u201cI just became a model four months ago,\u201d she says, throwing a look of faux exasperation at her sudden success. \u201cI thought I was going to have six months to get used to school, but I\u2019m working non-stop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She credits her work ethic to her stepfather, David Foster, a record producer who has worked with vocalists Andrea Bocelli (whom she calls \u201cUncle Andrea\u201d), Josh Groban, C\u00e9line Dion, and Michael Bubl\u00e9.\u00a0\u201cI moved to New York when I was 17,\u201d says Hadid. \u201cComing from Malibu High School,<br \/>\nit\u2019s crazy to be submerged into something that\u2019s so fast-paced. Everyone\u2019s trying to do whatever they do, and no one really looks at you, so you\u2019re just like, \u2018Okay, I guess I\u2019ll just do what I do.\u2019 It\u2019s taught me that everyone\u2019s out for themselves, so you have to keep working hard. My stepdad always says, \u2018If you\u2019re not working on the weekend, someone else is.\u2019 My sister and I always talk about that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p ><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44928\" alt=\"Bella Hadid 8\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Bella-Hadid-8.jpg\" \/><em>Black pinstripe waistcoat with gold chain, black leather short, metallic gold leather ankle boots b<\/em><em >y TOMMY HILFIGER and rings models own\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p ><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-44924\" alt=\"Bella Hadid 4\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Bella-Hadid-4.jpg\" \/><em>Star print silk dress and metallic gold leather ankle boots both by TOMMY HILFIGER\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Gigi, her supermodel sister, has played\u00a0a huge part in helping Hadid settle into the new city \u2013 plus, they live five blocks from each other. The slightly elder sibling (Gigi\u00a0is 19) has had a bit of a head start, recently being named Daily Front Row\u2019s model of the year. But to Hadid, she\u2019s still the same sister she grew up riding horses with. \u201cShe\u2019s killing it,\u201d she says. \u201cPeople say to me, \u2018Oh so your sister is so famous,\u2019 and I\u2019m like, \u2018Wait, people know who she is? She\u2019s my sister! I\u2019m the only one who knows who she is!\u2019 and then I see paparazzi going after her.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hadid grew up on the outskirts of the limelight, but she still understands the sting of fame. Besides Bocelli and other musicians being family friends, her mother Yolanda Foster is one of the stars of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Hadid and her sister have struck up friendships with Kendall and Kylie Jenner.<\/p>\n<p>When we speak, Hadid is back at home\u00a0in Malibu for Christmas break. The sunshine\u00a0is lighting up her unbelievably multi-coloured eyes (seriously, they look like a supernatural puddle of oil). \u201cI don\u2019t even know if this is stupid to say, but I guess my style is kind of grungy,\u201d she says. \u201cI don\u2019t really think about it. I just like to be easy and comfortable. I try to represent my personality through my clothes. I wear a lot of vintage stuff. I like to go to flea markets. I wake up with my best friends at 5 a.m. and go to the Rose Bowl here. I don\u2019t like shopping at places that a lot of people know about, because then everyone\u2019s wearing the same thing that you\u2019re wearing, which freaks me out. I just put on a pair of my vintage Levi\u2019s and some random T-shirt from Etsy and I\u2019m good to go.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Otherwise, Hadid insists she\u2019s just a normal girl, listing the Stray Cats, Mac DeMarco and Drake as her go-to musical heroes and using the Postmates app on her iPhone to order in her favourite foods: pizza, hamburgers, french fries and ice cream. \u201cWhen I\u2019m not working, I\u2019m sleeping or eating,\u201d she says. \u201cEating\u00a0is a really big hobby of mine. Sometimes\u00a0my friends force me to go hiking, which is\u00a0cool for a second, but then you realize that you\u2019re exercising, and then it\u2019s not really cool anymore.\u201d With that, she makes a funny\u00a0face and laughs.<\/p>\n<p>The mid-January weather in Malibu is\u00a0brisk enough for Hadid to throw on a Zadig\u00a0&amp; Voltaire bomber jacket with plaid pants, but nowhere near as frigid as the weather she\u2019ll head back to in New York. And while she\u2019s\u00a0not looking forward to New York\u2019s chill, she is definitely excited about the impending fashion weeks. \u201cI was supposed to walk Moschino\u00a0in London for Pre-Fall, but I was in Asia, so I couldn\u2019t do it, which was really sad,\u201d she says. \u201cHopefully, next fashion week [I\u2019ll walk] in London, Milan, and New York, and everywhere. Besides, I haven\u2019t been [to any fashion weeks] because I\u2019ve lived here, and I was in high school. I just graduated and now I\u2019m fully immersed in the New York scene. But I\u2019m\u00a0still also in college, so I have to go to\u00a0school and stuff!<\/p>\n<p ><a href=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2015\/02\/Bella-Hadid-6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\"
