This season the Christopher Shannon man is mixing it up. Suiting meets sportswear and plastic bags morph into masks.

What?

Christopher Shannon AW15 was familiar whilst futuristic. His typical street wear aesthetic was given a new spin when suiting made its debut, giving the collection a broader appeal. We saw trademark logo knits, slogans proclaiming ‘Save Me’, ‘Broke’ and ‘Thanks for Nothing’, re-invented track suits, chunky jewellery in collaboration with Judy Blame (who also co-styled the show) and supermarket carrier bag concealed faces courtesy of Isamaya Ffrench.

Why?

Why the strong words? Riffing off the realities of being a young designer in todays economic climate – the struggles, trials and tribulations faced within the industry – these are words of protest.

Who?

Whether he’s dressed in a pinstripe shirt patched with strips of colour and a stiff frill cumber band, paired with deconstructed monochrome trousers, or wearing tracksuit bottoms split into strips and re-sealed with poppers – the Christopher Shannon man is ready for all occasions.

Want?

Surely the plastic bag knit jumper inspired by photographer, Nigel Shafran. Although, poppers come close second.
