There&#8217;s some fantastic edits knocking around but the original is still the best.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The BB &amp; Q Band<\/strong> &#8211; &#8216;Imagination&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BMnuAsp5boA\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This was a fairly recent record purchase, the bass lick on the chorus just oozes funk. Love the arrangement too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crazy P<\/strong> &#8211; &#8216;Heartbreaker&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ph5psMQoirU\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A modern classic from one of my favourite live acts. Danielle epitomises stage presence in a very classy way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gwen Guthrie<\/strong> &#8211; &#8216;Ain&#8217;t Nothin&#8217; Goin&#8217; On But the Rent (Club Mix)&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Fj0o70hmqZ8\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Another quite recent discogs purchase, was captured by the lyrics and the lazy style of this. Percussion is outstanding.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anita Ward<\/strong> &#8211; &#8216;Ring My Bell&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/URAqnM1PP5E\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>That synth intro is so recognisable now, such a simple hook and it just works. So upbeat &amp; catchy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MFSB<\/strong> &#8211; &#8216;Mysteries Of The World&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NZWvwAyKUgo\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Instrumental here, the synth drifting out of this is phenomenal. Love the strings too, a great track to build into.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Storm<\/strong> &#8211; &#8216;Can&#8217;t Nobody Love Me Like You Do&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mA28rmh2NzA\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Another track built around a simple hook. A bit less bright in terms of production but the vocal leads and it deserves it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GL<\/strong> &#8211; &#8216;Won&#8217;t You See&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/9n_epTUxd3k\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Another recent choice but feels so vintage. Drums maybe a bit heavier but it&#8217;s a real throwback. Melbourne doing the business here.<\/p>\n<p><strong>First Choice<\/strong> &#8211; &#8216;Armed and Extremely Dangerous&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Jc_lttFJBgg\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>First Choice are a common choice in some form or another, it&#8217;s all about the percussion for me. Such an arms up track.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Venus Dodson<\/strong> &#8211; &#8216;Shining&#8217;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/e4ZD5NvFh7Q\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Guessing you&#8217;re seeing the trend with percussion. This just sounds like it would be amazing live, tonnes of energy and solo parts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Ben Pearce has just launched a brand new disco inspired mix series titled The Sextape Series.
