I had the idea for it a couple of years of ago \u2013 diving just helped me find ways to execute it properly. <\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/25507685?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/25507685\">The Man Who Fell To Earth &#8211; POST Gravity<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/jacobsuttonfilm\">Jacob Sutton<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\">Vimeo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How did the <a href=\"http:\/\/garycardiology.blogspot.com\/\">Gary Card,<\/a> stop-motion commission for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.loewe.com\/\">Loewe<\/a> come about? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Me and Gary first worked together a couple of years ago now \u2013 we did an ad for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comme-des-garcons.com\/\">Comme De Garcons<\/a>.  The first film like that I did was a powder column film for a Bermuda Triangle exhibition \u2013 it all just kind of carried on from there in terms of aesthetic.<br \/>\n <strong><br \/>\nAnd the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.angelosorrenti.com\/\">Angelo Sorrenti<\/a> piece? Your work has had a heavy sports bent this year&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I just like working with people who move really well. If you\u2019re trained in a discipline \u2013 be it fencing, martial arts, dance or whatever \u2013 it means you have a lot more ability to express what you want to do creatively. The same goes for the fencing story for Last magazine. I think they\u2019d seen some of the Stella McCartney <a href=\"http:\/\/dandvmanagement.blogspot.com\/2011\/05\/jacob-sutton-adidas-stella-mccartney.html\">Adidas<\/a> stuff I&#8217;d done before, so that probably helped.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/26267936?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/26267936\">The Partisan &#8211; New York Times<\/a> from <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\/jacobsuttonfilm\">Jacob Sutton<\/a> on <a href=\"http:\/\/vimeo.com\">Vimeo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nThe fencing piece reminded me of the kind of dance projects you\u2019d worked on in the past\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yeah. I was keen to take them out of the sporting context \u2013 take the whole thing away from that. For me, fencing is like a form of dancing &#8211; from that point we were able to easily transfer the project into a dance piece. But with the Angello Sorrenti film it was way more about power and capturing an explosive movement. I didn\u2019t want it to be a macho film, that would have been boring. <\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/29962002?title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>What piece do you feel you enjoyed making the most this year?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The flying film was something I was very satisfied with because I\u2019d envisaged it for such a long time. It was quite tricky to make, too; we ended up filming it in Switzerland. Some of the projects which aren\u2019t out yet I\u2019m really excited about. I&#8217;ve just made a new film for Interview magazine, with a dancer called Lil Buck. This is set to be out in February. The Angela Sorenti one was a highlight too \u2013 it was moving in a better direction for me; more emotional and soulful.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nCan you name me the best emerging photographer you\u2019ve stumbled upon this year?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I really like Dan Sannwald&#8217;s pictures.
