They\u2019ve also got some impressive festival slots at T In The Park, Leeds &amp; Reading and Bestival where they will blast out tracks from their upcoming debut album \u2018The Balcony\u2019 (set for release on 15th September via Communion\/Island Records). The band\u2019s live performances have already been compared to early shows from the Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes, highlighting that they have that remarkable flare that will help propel them to new heights.<\/p>\n<p>In a rare moment of freedom between their extensive 30 festival appearances this summer and doing promo for their upcoming album, the band compile a playlist of all of their favourite tracks and tell us why they think they\u2019re so incredible:<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Streets \u2013 \u2018Weak Become Heroes\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mike Skinner is an absolute god in my eyes. His lyrics are amazing. He paints a picture like no-one else, man. I remember stealing Original Pirate Material off my cousin when I was about 12 cause I liked the album cover and I just never turned it off. I think the piano loop in this is euphoric. I&#8217;ve always wanted it as an\u00a0instrumental\u00a0for our entrance\u00a0tune but I don&#8217;t know Mike Skinner, so if you do&#8230;.. ask him to send it me??? x<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0Z1kRhiPE0E?rel=0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Strokes \u2013 \u2018Someday\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We played in New York with the Strokes last month for\u00a0Governors\u00a0Ball festival and it was unreal. I never got to see them growing up so to actually share a stage with them as well as see them was just class! Again, I think the lyrics in this song and just the complete simplicity is just genius and when they played this live the crowd went wild. They&#8217;ve still got it like.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/knU9gRUWCno?rel=0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Cribs \u2013 \u2018Be Safe\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We saw these at truck festival last week and they completely trashed the stage. I&#8217;d not seen a live band like that in ages. I grew up listening to these and I kind of grew with them as they went through albums. Amazing band and I think they&#8217;ve really stayed true to themselves and fans over the years. I like that.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WCydrACBsK8?rel=0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Little Comets \u2013 \u2018Jennifer\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I think this is the best pop song written since You can call me Al. Rob&#8217;s (the singer) lyrics are absolutely cuts above. They literally do EVERYTHING themselves. They&#8217;ve just grafted doing videos, recording, literally everything themselves and built up a following from the ground. They took us on tour at the start of this year and taught us so much about going forwards as an honest band. It&#8217;s really important to me that bands stay true to their fans and themselves, they are a prime example of how it&#8217;s done! I&#8217;ve got nothing but love and admiration for those Geordie kernnnnnnts!<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pMO0cTstIHs?rel=0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Catfish and the Bottlemen \u2013 \u2018Cocoon\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TUNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I hope it doesn&#8217;t come across arrogant putting us-selves on the playlist but&#8230;. Something about the simplicity and positivity of this song just makes me laugh man.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0LW6cpFfcdY?rel=0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>The National \u2013 \u2018Graceless\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My girlfriend and manager kept trying to get me into these as they both know i&#8217;m into lyrics, I never really got it until they released this latest album and I absolutely love it. Anytime I get in my car this is on. I&#8217;ve literally not took it out yet. His lyrics are special man, really special. My dad played this to me religiously growing up. You HAVE to hear this live on &#8216;The Last Waltz&#8217; DVD he did with &#8216;The Band&#8217;. Absolutely incredible. He stopped gigging for 3 years as he suffered really bad stage fright and this was his first show back. She&#8217;s absolutely class and is one of the biggest badd-asses i&#8217;ve ever seen onstage. She goes for it and when I saw her she just completely converted a room.
