{"id":31218,"date":"2014-06-11T08:49:01","date_gmt":"2014-06-11T08:49:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wonderlandmagazine.com\/?p=31218"},"modified":"2014-06-11T09:46:51","modified_gmt":"2014-06-11T09:46:51","slug":"house-holland-x-hattie-stewart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wonderlandmagazine.com\/2014\/06\/11\/house-holland-x-hattie-stewart\/","title":{"rendered":"House of Holland \u00d7 Hattie Stewart"},"content":{"rendered":"<div lang=\"EN-GB\">\n<p >Henry Holland collaborates with illustrator Hattie Stewart, celebrating the professional doodler&#8217;s unique approach<!--more--><\/p>\n<p ><a href=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/06\/shot_22-005.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-31284\" alt=\"Henry Holland X Hattie Stewart\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/06\/shot_22-005.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p >Henry Holland of <a href=\"www.houseofholland.co.uk\">House of Holland<\/a> has teamed up with an illustrator favoured by the likes of Vogue, i-D and Playboy for her work doodle-bombing iconic magazine covers. <a href=\"http:\/\/hattiestewart.com\/work\/house-of-holland-pre-fall-2014\">Hattie Stewart<\/a> adds texture to her work with short strokes and a multitude of contrasting colours, posing a caricatured composition for viewers&#8217; consumption.<\/p>\n<p >Holland and Stewart are both masters of their respective arts when it comes to challenging the public&#8217;s tolerance of fashion and comedy, seen in Henry&#8217;s earlier collection featuring slogans that read &#8216;UHU Gareth Pugh&#8217; and &#8216;Cause me pain Heidi Slimane&#8217; in an effort to satirise the works of fellow designers.<\/p>\n<p ><a href=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/06\/2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-31289\" alt=\"Henry Holland X Hattie Stewart\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/06\/2.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p >The inevitable pairing sees an exclusive capsule collection comprising of eight pieces made up of jersey dresses, tees and body-con miniskirts. Images of figures with piercing eyes, prised from the sockets of Donald Duck, cavorting with the soft features of a pre-Raphaelite muse fill the garment from seam to seam. These collages are offset by mirky cosmic swirls, pastiches of their former selves, showcasing an all encompassing image of macabre pop art. <em>True Romance<\/em>\u00a0meets the Op art paper dresses of the 1960s.<\/p>\n<p >The harshness of these unearthly characters are the imaginative figures by Hattie who worked into a variety of classic cult\u00a0film posters and tongue in cheek artworks from boyband albums. Handwritten neon typefaces ring of the &#8216;Drive&#8217; title usually found scrawled across Ryan Goslings forehead on long forgotten billboard posters. Prints are made slightly softer with the added finish of a ruffled hem.<\/p>\n<p ><a href=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/06\/shot_23-064.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-31285\" alt=\"Henry Holland X Hattie Stewart\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/06\/shot_23-064.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p ><em>The collection will hit <a href=\"www.houseofholland.co.uk\">stores and online<\/a> in early June 2014.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p ><em><a
