As if the striking artworks weren\u2019t enough \u2013 or the fact that we got to rub shoulders with Jimmy Choo and Jaime Winstone (just sayin\u2019) \u2013 every painting, sculpture and illustration on display is going to be auctioned off with all the proceeds going towards the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.savewildtigers.org\/inspired\/swt-art-exhibition-2014\">Save Wild Tigers<\/a> charity. That\u2019s right ladies and gentlemen; it\u2019s art with a heart.<\/p>\n<p>THRIVE is the culmination of twenty artists coming together to produce tiger-inspired artworks for a good cause and thanks to the exhibition curator <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laurenbakerart.com\/\">Lauren Baker<\/a>, this showcase includes a diverse mix of emerging and established artists. \u201cI was trying to steer away from the more obvious, photo-realistic works that you might expect to see at this type of show and instead I\u2019ve chosen artists whose work really pops,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>Amongst some of our favourites were Chapter\u2019s pop-Gothic tiger skull and Chris Wright\u2019s \u2018He Ain\u2019t Heavy\u2019 black and white print. But the <i>pi\u00e8ce de resistance<\/i> has to be Baker\u2019s Crystal Tigress \u2013 a life-size tiger head sculpture with rose gold stripes that\u2019s been embellished with over 50,000 Swarovski crystals. Baker tells us that the Tigress is in for quite a journey. After touring London she\u2019s going to be exhibited at the National Gallery in Malaysia as well as on the Eastern Orient Express train, before finally being auctioned in Kuala Lupor in October 2014. Check out the previously unreleased images exclusive to <i>Wonderland<\/i> with Charity Ambassador Jaime Winstone below.<\/p>\n<p>Like Baker, we were previously unaware that there are now only 3,400 wild tigers left in existence. \u201cIt\u2019s been really heartening inspiring the creative community to join forces to help save wild tigers,\u201d she says. \u201cWithin ten years wild tigers could be extinct, but we\u2019re aiming to reverse this by trying to double the amount of tigers in the next ten years instead.\u201d It\u2019s easy to see why THRIVE has already garnered a great response as well as some impressive bids, and with the Tate gallery\u2019s Curator describing Baker as \u201can artist we&#8217;ll definitely be watching out for in 2014\u2019\u2019, we advise keeping an eye out for more of her philanthropic work in the future.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Jaimie-win1.lowres.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft auction until tomorrow, when all the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.savewildtigers.org\/inspired\/thrive-auction\">artwork<\/a> will be sold in aid of Save Wild Tigers during the tiger dinner at The Mango
