Which is exactly what\u00a0artistic director\u00a0Geraldo da Conceicao offered up for the Sonia Rykiel womens AW14 wardrobe. Citing Gertrude Stein&#8217;s quote &#8216;A rose is a rose is a rose&#8217;, da Conceicao focused on the clothes and kept it simple and understated.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SONIA-RYKIEL-FW14-02-e1393843913968.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27829 aligncenter\" alt=\"SONIA RYKIEL FW14 02\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SONIA-RYKIEL-FW14-02-e1393843913968.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s an unstructured informality to the collection but with elegance, however many pieces offer exposure during movement offering an insight of what lies beneath but as the repeated &#8216;moi&#8217; motif suggested this was for the satisfaction of the wearer, not those around her. Another focus of the collection was the rose, as a repeat motif similar to the &#8216;moi&#8217; but also through textures and fabrics which have the plush pliant texture of rose petals. Knitted pieces were layered like petals, the silhouette was overall quite mascluine with elegance and feminity brought through with soft luxurious textiles and a pale colour palette of camel, dusty pink and sugary lilacs and lemons.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SONIA-RYKIEL-FW14-04-e1393843925746.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-27830 aligncenter\" alt=\"SONIA RYKIEL FW14 04\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/03\/SONIA-RYKIEL-FW14-04-e1393843925746.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The main message from Sonia Rykiel AW14? For all the sociological meanings we might invest them with, clothes are just those everyday things we wear.
