{"id":27022,"date":"2014-02-11T11:25:06","date_gmt":"2014-02-11T11:25:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wonderlandmagazine.com\/?p=27022"},"modified":"2014-02-11T12:15:06","modified_gmt":"2014-02-11T12:15:06","slug":"luke-abby-x-otto-pierce-look-within","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wonderlandmagazine.com\/2014\/02\/11\/luke-abby-x-otto-pierce-look-within\/","title":{"rendered":"LUKE ABBY \u00d7 OTTO PIERCE &#8211; &#8216;LOOK WITHIN&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Artist and set-Designer Luke Abby&#8217;s first unseen photo series entitled &#8220;<em>Look Within<\/em>&#8221; featuring Otto Pierce.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Luke Abby began his career when he was barely a teenager, creating wearable pieces of art, designing scenery for performances and documenting his travels by taking pictures as well as turning his creative hand to Videography and producing short films.<\/p>\n<p>While studying at the prestigious BRIT school, Luke began assisting\u00a0renowned\u00a0set designer Gary Card where he gathered the experience to elevate to his own projects. In 2010\u00a0he set up his own design studio in London and began to collaborate with some of the most respected names in the fashion industry collaborating with photographers such as David Sims, Damon Baker and Mariano Vivanco alongside brands such as Juicy Couture, Jaeger LeCoultre and Esprit.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27025\" alt=\"Output2\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/02\/Output2-e1391961626248.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>His personal work of futuristic sculptures are favoured by Stylists Marie Chaix, Brandon Maxwell and Nicola Formichetti and his custom-created pieces has seen him mould bespoke projects for the kinetic piece of human art that we know as Lady Gaga.<\/p>\n<p>Luke now divides his time between his hometown of London, Paris and New York and cites Erte, Cecil Beaton and Norman bel Geddes as inspiration.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0&#8220;I believe in a visual that speaks and says something relevant about the world today. The mediums of my work are limitless. I play on the idea of triggering someones thoughts or emotions hopefully making someone see the world differently.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/02\/LUKE-ABBY-1-e1391961638931.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27024\" alt=\"LUKE ABBY 1\" src=\"\/\/media.wonderlandmagazine.com\/uploads\/2014\/02\/LUKE-ABBY-1-e1391961638931.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Look Within<\/em>&#8221; was shot during the summer of 2012 and channels the idea of one&#8217;s reflection in a literal and non-literal sense whilst the rest is purely left down to interpretation.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0&#8220;It was such a hot summers day in the middle of August when we made the photos on my friends fire escape. After fitting Otto into the mirrored suit which we had custom made for him, it began to restrict his movements. As he slowly moved he bounced the sunlight across the nearby buildings which was pretty incredible to see.
