A new retrospective showcasing a selection of Corinne Day’s earliest and most personal work.

The late fashion photographer, Corrine Day, is known by most as the woman who sky-rocketed the career of supermodel Kate Moss. With a legacy as such, it was inevitable that posthumous exhibitions of her brilliant work would be conceived. The Gimpel Fils Gallery in London recently launched the latest exhibition spotlighting Day’s never-forgotten works. May The Circle Remain Unbroken opened last week, featuring some of Day’s earliest and most personal photographs of friends and models in a grim and evocative post-rave era.

The very personal exhibition was put on by Day’s husband, Mark Szaszy, whom she met in 1985 on a train in Tokyo. During an extended trip to Hong Kong and Thailand, Szaszy taught Day how to use a camera and in two years later the couple moved to Italy. It was in Milan that Day’s career as a fashion photographer took off. Working with Moss in the 90’s was mutually beneficial for the pair and they became a duo of success. May the Circle Remain Unbroken shows the friends that Day’s photos united and the relationships that were created over 20 years ago and continue to withstand time, three years after her passing.
