Queen of rap M.I.A has teamed up with Versus to bring us a capsule collection inspired by the bootleg Versace merchandise she found in London markets as a teen.

M.I.A is internationally known for cutting edge controversy and outspoken behavior, this time around she has teamed up with Versus Versace to create a 19-piece collection that is just as vocal as she. A natural partnership, with her spunk that matches the brands attitude, is said to focus on the everlasting concept of bootleg culture.

“It’s always been part of the M.I.A. culture – to talk about bootlegs, and people that sell them or make them. When I was approached by Versace, it seemed like a good idea to take that and reverse the cycle. Versace designs have always been bootlegged, now it’s Versace bootlegging the bootleg for the bootleggers to bootleg the bootleg. This is to keep that cycle going.”
