Discovered first by TV on the Radio in New York, then by Bella Union&#8217;s Simon Raymonde in London, he has a CV that makes most musicians grumble with envy: a sometimes model, an Adele favourite, star of Bat For Lashes&#8217; video, <em>Laura<\/em>, editor of <em>Love is Law<\/em> magazine, and now a world-renowned violinist and musician due in part to his first album,\u00a0<em>Land of CanAan. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>But don&#8217;t think he&#8217;s just riding on the waves of success &#8212; Toliver is back only a few months after <em>Land of CanAan<\/em>&#8216;s release with an entirely new mixtape, <em>Study For My PHD, Volume II<\/em>. The sound is\u00a0 vibrant, steeped in classic soul &#8212; and <a href=\"\/tag\/beyonce\/\" target=\"_blank\">Beyonce<\/a>. Hints of Queen B run throughout the tape, from clips of her <em>Love on Top<\/em> track to her classic\u00a0 snippets of wisdom. We&#8217;re feeling smarter by the minute.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/tag\/marques-toliver\/\" target=\"_blank\">Toliver<\/a> is keen to let his audience sink their teeth into\u00a0the new tracks &#8212; but not for long: &#8220;We can&#8217;t rest too long though so next up, the band and I are back at the Latitude Festival&#8230;then in September and October we&#8217;ll be back on the road taking the &#8216;Marques Toliver &amp; The Sometimes &#8211; Land of CanAan Tour&#8217; all around Europe.&#8221; While we wait for the multiple chances to drool over Toliver&#8217;s impressive abilities,
