The Dsquared2 SS14 Men’s show imagines James Dean stranded on a tropical island – in tiny pants.

The Dsquared2 catwalk show in Milan opened with a model, taking on the role of infamous Hollywood bad boy James Dean, bathing under a tropical waterfall and clad only in a pair of white pants from the duo’s new underwear and swimwear line with Isa. Described by Dan Catan as “James Dean crashes his plane on a tropical island and adapts,” the SS14 menswear collection is quite the wet dream — not that we’re complaining.

Dean and Dan’s vision of James Dean stranded in a tropical paradise is no Gilligan’s Island, but rather a hunk-filled, cultish fantasy (sorry, Ginger). In their story, he first crops his khaki trousers in an attempt to explore his surroundings, but his signature biker jacket, synonymous with his rebellious spirit, remains untouched as a tropical red leather and denim combo.

With passing time, the fashionably inventive James Dean becomes more artistic with his survival-gear, providing him with protection from the unpredictable climate of fashion. The stylish adaptation of Fifties nostalgia pops up throughout the collection, including the old-school rattan-esque curtain prints that cycled through cropped trousers, jackets and eveningwear. Why eveningwear on a deserted island? “Because James Dean has a night life, too,” says Dean Catan. Fair enough.
