Richard Nicoll’s signature minimalist aesthetic was remixed with Linder Sterling’s collage prints, in some seriously sexy summer sportswear.

Last season was all about “post-punk no-wave rebellion” and Richard Nicoll’s SS14 collection felt like a natural progression from his autumnal urban offering. Teddy boys were tailored to the hilt and kitted out in butter-soft leather and mesh, and python print jacquard gave the collection an androgynous but luxurious sporty edge.

Our favourite look was Nicoll’s signature jumpsuit, which was toughened up with a leather waistcoat and quiffed hair so slick it hurt, but we were also fans of the varying shades of blue that were seen on jumpers, trousers, caps and jackets. The short trend was present again, too, and Nicoll’s own favourite pieces from the collection, the Linder Sterling collage prints, were printed on sweaters.

When you caught a glimpse of Nicoll at the close of the collection, it was once again obvious that Nicoll’s personal style is very much the sum of his designer parts. Clad in a blue jumper, loose trousers and trainers he looked the epitome of the subdued but sexy Richard Nicoll man. And there was fashion meta-ness (leather + prints = Givenchy, right?), too, which we love. You’ll wear this one.

MORE LONDON COLLECTIONS: MEN COVERAGE
