{"id":16557,"date":"2013-03-28T11:01:46","date_gmt":"2013-03-28T11:01:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wonderlandmagazine.com\/?p=16557"},"modified":"2017-03-01T18:20:44","modified_gmt":"2017-03-01T18:20:44","slug":"premiere-fossil-collective-wolves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wonderlandmagazine.com\/2013\/03\/28\/premiere-fossil-collective-wolves\/","title":{"rendered":"PREMIERE:  Fossil Collective &#8211; &#8220;Wolves&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Wonderland<\/em> premieres the <a href=\"\/tag\/music-videos\/\">music video<\/a> for &#8216;Wolves&#8217;, the first single off much-hyped buzz band and The Civil Wars tour buddies <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fossilcollective.com\/\">Fossil Collective<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hBZ8vsl2tg4\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve been fans of Leeds-based duo <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fossilcollective.com\/\">Fossil Collective<\/a> since their truly excellent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GZsm2-5tH9Q\">Frankie Goes To Hollywood cover of The Power Of Love<\/a>, and there&#8217;s been a steady buzz building around them ever since, with comparisons to 70s Laurel Canyon folk and other stunning heart-on-sleeve musicians like Bon Iver and The National. <\/p>\n<p>Their debut album <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/album\/tell-where-i-lie\/id608481101\">Tell Where I Lie<\/a> is the sort of record you can imagine soundtracking a film like Cold Mountain or Martha Marcy May Marlene &#8211; the kind of careworn, rough-hewn songwriting that accompanies acutely observed, emotional meltdowns in woodland settings. In fact, that&#8217;s exactly what happens in the music video for &#8216;Wolves&#8217;, the band&#8217;s lead single.
